Pilgrimage to shoot Drybar 2
I just completed my second pilgrimage to Provo, Utah, to film my second special with Dry Bar Comedy on Friday, March 20.
Dry Bar Comedy is located inside the now-legendary Angel Studios, which at this point feels a little like Mecca for clean comedians.
I’ll be honest—I was a little disappointed to pull the first spot on the lineup for both shows we were taping.
But… I decided to make a batch of comedy lemonade.
I gave it up to my higher power (God), went out there, and delivered what I hope were two solid sets.
Now it’s in the hands of the editors…
Let’s see what kind of miracle they can perform.
Getting there, however… felt more like a side quest.
I took public transportation from the airport in Salt Lake City down to Provo. Along the way, I met a group of skateboarders, a few transients… and what I can only describe as a skateboarder-transient hybrid.
At one point, a guy tried to sell me a pair of slightly used size nine sneakers.
Which is bold.
Because I wear a size 14.
That’s not a sale… that’s a misunderstanding.
Thankfully, my flight got in early enough that I was able to get some sleep, grab a few cups of coffee, and head over to the set ready to go.
This time around, I’m working alongside Matt Kirshen and Jerry Miner—two incredibly funny comics—so it should be a great show all around.
Second special in the books…
…and a slightly used pair of size nines still available if anyone’s interested.
